like Kings winner of Bebo Band Competition27 February 2008
Congratulations to like Kings who have been announced winners of the Bebo Band Competition and will play live at the UCD Fashion Show on Friday and receive a profile in the bands section on Bebo.
likeKings are a 4 piece band from Dublin; Brian Barry (vocals and guitar), Brian Martin, (piano, guitar and vocals), Brian Nolan (bass and vocals) and Conor Barry (drums and vocals), who together write and perform their own songs. Formed in Autumn 2006 they have firmly established themselves quickly on the Dublin music scene with a considerable amount of gigging and recording in a short space of time. The band have played most of Dublin’s bigger venues, (headlining at Crawdaddy, Radiocity and The Button Factory) and have gained a lot of recognition supporting some of Ireland’s bigger acts such as The Flaws and The Coronas. They have also played in the 2007 UCD Battle of the Bands, winning their heat and progressing through to the final. On April 18th they will release their first single ‘4a.m.’.
Brian Nolan is the sole UCD student in the band and is in his final year studying Commerce. He modelled in the 2007 UCD Fashion Show in the Point and is delighted to be able to participate again.
Their new EP will be on sale at the Show with 50% of the proceeds from all sales going to the Down Syndrome Centre.
